JERSEY TAP FEST

FREE Shim-Sham Shimmy Class - Wednesday, July 14th @ 2:00PM. The Shim-Sham Shimmy is the famous tap dancers' finale dance. Don't know it? Don't worry! Learn the Shim-Sham Shimmy from the Jersey Tap Fest faculty - this is a FREE event for everyone!

History - Friday, July 16th @ 2:00PM. Participants will be privileged to receive a one-hour, verbal narrative of tap dance history from none other than Tap Legend and Honoree Dr. Harold "Stumpy" Cromer.

Jam Session - Wednesday, July 14th @ 7:30PM. The Jam Session takes place on the opening night of the tap festival, this is our chance to welcome you to Jersey Tap Fest. Get to know the other dancers and share your passion for tap dance!

Panel Discussion - Thursday, July 15th @ 7:30PM. The Panel Discussion is a great opportunity to learn from and about the Jersey Tap Fest faculty. Teachers will share their stories and answer any questions.

Student Showcase - Friday, July 16th @ 7:30PM. The Student Showcase provides participants with the opportunity to share their talents. Piece should be limited to two and a half minutes and do not have to be tap dances (songs, monolgues, other forms of dance, etc. are welcome). The number of pieces to be performed in the showcase will be dependent on the number of participants. Large groups, trios, duets and solos are welcome. Sign up for this event will be available July 1st.

Tap 'n Time! - JTF's Main Stage Event- Saturday, July 17th @ 7:00PM. Students who participate in repertoire classes will perform their learned pieces in the first act of the concluding concert. The second act will include to 2010 Jersey Tap Fest faculty and other special performers.

Tickets will be available for purchase Tuesday, June 22nd at 12:00 noon. Tickets price: $30 orchestra, $25 mezzanine, $20 age 17 and under, college student with ID,senior citizen. Please contact SOPAC: http://www.sopacnow.org to purchase tickets.
